ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect is the main alternative to Invisalign among established aligner brands, backed by Straumann Group. Its selling points for the practice are an open scan workflow (any STL file), no setup fees, and an aligner design built around a tri-layer material and a high trimline.

What it does not offer is a public doctor price list: fees are discussed with a territory manager or found after registering. Its patient brand is also smaller than Invisalign's, which matters in markets where patients shop by name.

What ClearCorrect is

ClearCorrect makes clear aligners in Round Rock, Texas. Straumann Group announced its acquisition in August 2017 for about $150 million. The dentist submits a scan through the ClearCorrect Doctor Portal, reviews and edits the treatment plan in ClearPilot, and ClearCorrect manufactures the aligners.

The system is sold to general dentists and orthodontists in North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other markets.

Pricing for the practice

ClearCorrect's current doctor pricing is not public. Its provider page says it offers various treatment options with pricing flexibility and charges no setup fees. Older published figures and third-party estimates exist online, but they do not reflect the current price list, so we do not repeat them.

Ask for the fee per treatment option, what each includes (number of aligners, revisions, retainers and how long the case stays open), and whether there are volume discounts.

Technology

• ClearQuartz, a tri-layer material with an elastomeric inner layer between two harder outer layers. ClearCorrect says it is four times more tear resistant than single-layer polymers and retains ten times more of its initial force than competitors, based on its own data on file.
• Performance Trimline, a high, flat edge above the gingival margin. ClearCorrect cites published research that this design transmits force better and is 2.5 times more retentive than a scalloped trimline.
• ClearControl features: engagers, anterior and posterior bite ramps, cutouts for elastics, pontics, bars and guides.
• ClearPilot planning software with tooth movement, IPR management, bite jump simulation and jaw positioning.

Where ClearCorrect is strong

• Open scanning. Any STL export is accepted, so the scanner you already own will work.
• No setup fees. Useful for practices that submit cases and do not always start them.
• Straumann relationship. Practices buying implants and other products from Straumann can consolidate their account.
• Clinical features. Bite ramps, elastics cutouts and pontics cover more than simple crowding cases.

Where it falls short

• No public doctor prices. You need to register or talk to sales to compare costs.
• Smaller patient brand. Some patients will ask for Invisalign specifically.
• Vendor data. Material claims rely on ClearCorrect's own testing.
• Narrower range. We found no equivalents to Invisalign's palatal expander or mandibular advancement products on ClearCorrect's provider pages.
