Heidi is one of the largest AI scribes in healthcare, and its free plan makes it the easiest way for a dentist to test ambient notes. It has dental templates for common procedures and specialist visits, and a clear HIPAA position with a BAA for every covered entity.
Like Freed, it is a general scribe rather than a dental charting tool: no perio chart, no tooth chart and no documented link to dental practice software. Paid plan prices are not shown on its pricing page.

What Heidi is
Heidi Health is an AI medical scribe that listens during a consultation and drafts the note, letters and patient instructions. For dentistry it provides procedure templates for extractions, restorations, crown preparations, hygiene visits and specialist consultations, plus community templates for dental trauma, orthodontic assessments, endodontic notes and insurance verification forms. Its Evidence feature answers clinical questions during the visit, such as antibiotic prophylaxis, dosing and sedation protocols.
Heidi says users save 14 hours a week on documentation; that is a vendor figure.
