Clerri

Clerri runs in-house dental membership plans with the practice system at the centre. It connects to more than 20 practice management systems, bills members automatically, and sends their payments straight to the practice's own merchant account. Setup is free.

Unlike BoomCloud, it does not publish a monthly price, and its impressive outcome figures are its own. Compare total cost at your expected membership size before choosing.

What Clerri is

Clerri is a platform for designing, selling and running dental membership plans: patients pay a monthly or annual fee for preventive care and a discount on other treatment at the practice. Clerri handles plan design, online enrollment, automated billing and renewals, and reporting. Financing pre-approvals can be offered during enrollment for patients who need treatment beyond the plan.

Clerri says more than 25,000 dentists and 200 groups use it, that members visit two to three times as often as uninsured patients, accept twice as much treatment and generate 172% more cash production, and that the average membership costs about $30 a month. These are vendor figures.

Pricing

Clerri's platform page says setup is 100% free and implementation typically takes two weeks or less, but it does not state a monthly fee. Clerri's own article on membership software pricing puts the market at $99 to $399 or more a month and warns that per-member charges, setup fees and transaction costs can double or triple the headline cost, without giving its own figures. Ask for:

• the monthly platform fee per location;
• any per-member or percentage fees;
• card processing costs through your merchant account;
• the contract term.

• Integrations. One of the broadest lists in membership software, including cloud systems such as Denticon, CareStack and Oryx.
• Payments to the practice. Member fees go straight to your merchant account.
• Free setup and fast implementation.
• Groups. Used by DSOs as well as independent practices.
• Financing link at enrollment for larger treatment.

Where it falls short

• No published price.
• Vendor outcome figures. Membership patients are self-selected, so higher visits and acceptance partly reflect who joins.
• No independent reviews in our data.
• Regulation. Membership plans are regulated differently by state; Clerri's tools do not replace a check of your state's rules.
