Eaglesoft is to Patterson what Dentrix is to Henry Schein: the established server system you buy from your distributor. It covers everything a general practice needs, a very large number of third-party tools connect to it, and users rate its support a little higher than Dentrix's.

The limits are the familiar ones for this generation of software. There is no public price, it needs a server, the interface shows its age and it is built around a single office. If you are a Patterson customer it is a natural fit; if not, compare it with Open Dental and at least one cloud system.

What Eaglesoft is

Eaglesoft is practice management software installed on a server in the office. It handles scheduling, clinical and perio charting, treatment planning, insurance eligibility, electronic claims, ERA posting, e-prescribing, imaging and reporting.

It is sold through Patterson Dental, so the software usually comes as part of a wider relationship that includes equipment, imaging hardware, supplies and technical service.
