TrueLark

TrueLark was an independent AI receptionist for appointment-based businesses; since May 2025 it has been part of Weave and now sits behind Weave AI Receptionist. It answers calls, texts and web chats around the clock, books into supported dental systems and hands complex calls to staff.

For Weave customers it is the obvious first option to try, because it lives in the same phone and messaging system. For everyone else, the product is effectively no longer sold on its own.

What TrueLark is now

TrueLark built an AI virtual receptionist for dental groups and other appointment-based businesses, handling scheduling, rescheduling and patient questions by text and web chat. Weave Communications announced the acquisition on May 5, 2025 for $35 million, $25 million in cash and $10 million in equity, and closed it in May 2025.

Weave now sells the technology as Weave AI Receptionist. According to Weave's page, it answers calls and texts day and night with a human-like voice, books and reschedules appointments directly into qualified dental practice management systems, captures appointment requests where direct booking is not available, and routes complex conversations to staff in a single thread. Multilingual conversations and payment collection by phone are listed as coming soon.

Pricing

No price is published. On September 30, 2026 Weave offered early access with 25% off for the rest of 2026. Ask:

• whether AI Receptionist is an add-on or included in a higher Weave plan;
• the price after the discount period;
• whether calls, messages or minutes are capped;
• which dental systems qualify for direct booking.

Where it is strong

• One system. AI answering sits in the same inbox and phone platform the front desk already uses.
• Channels. Calls, texts and web chat handled as one conversation.
• Booking. Direct booking and rescheduling on qualified dental systems.
• Handoff. Complex requests go to staff.
• Vendor stability. A listed company behind it rather than a start-up.

Where it falls short

• Not really standalone any more. The TrueLark site is gone and the product is positioned inside Weave.
• Features still arriving. Multilingual support and payments are marked coming soon.
• No price.
• Thin reviews. 14 on G2 and 8 on Capterra in our data, mostly about the pre-acquisition product and not only from dental practices.
• Named systems. Weave does not list which dental systems qualify for direct booking on the page we read.

Bottom line

If your practice runs on Weave, trial AI Receptionist before looking elsewhere: integration is the hardest part of any AI receptionist, and here it is already done. Get the post-discount price in writing and confirm direct booking works on your practice management system. If you are not on Weave, compare standalone products instead.
